“Tourists don’t know where they’ve been, travelers don’t know where they’re going.” - Paul Theroux
Drift was created for the independent traveler - inspired by the idea of “traveling without a destination”. The first location, in San Jose del Cabo’s Historic Art District, is the prototype for a series of hotels that fill a niche between boutique and youth hostel - and provide young adventurers an alternative to all-inclusive package tourism. Drift is designed to promote social interaction with a pared down, do-it-yourself atmosphere. The rooms are basic and open concept, influenced by industrial urban lofts and Baja ranch architecture. “I was born lost and take no pleasure in being found.” - John Steinbeck
Drift is the perfect jumping-off point for a Baja adventure. Explore the thriving organic culinary scene in the colonial ranch towns of San Jose and Todos Santos, surf or kite surf the thousands of miles of empty East Cape or Pacific beaches, hike the desert canyons and hot springs of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, dive the world famous Cabo Pulmo, swim with whale sharks in La Paz and visit the incredible Balandra Bay and Isla Espiritu Santos. See the Instagram feed for pics that may inspire your trip. Would you like to book a room on AirBNB?
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” - Hunter S. Thompson
